Cycle Cilento is run by a team of dedicated cycling enthusiasts committed to providing you with the very best experience in cycling holidays and training camps. Based in Agropoli, the largest town in the area, it’s right in the thick of the diverse landscapes of the Cilento region in southern Italy. Run by myself, Francis Cassidy, originally from Donegal in Ireland, I have built a team around me who specialise in every aspect required to make your cycling tour a successful one. 

Having travelled extensively in both Europe and Asia, after arriving in Cilento I immediately saw the potential of the region for cycling. It was by far and away the best cycling I had experienced anywhere in the world. With its diverse landscape, excellent climbs, favourable climate and super friendly locals, it was a place I could immediately see myself living. I decided to settle down here and started this business in the hope of sharing my discovery with others. There is another reason for starting ‘Cycle Cilento’. I wanted to help the local economy and the wonderful friends I’ve made here. The people are so kind and generous. It is like going back in time.

I have teamed up with local businesses in the area, attempting to aid the local economy, in this, one of the less well-off areas of Italy. The money has never really existed for them to market the area as the world class destination that it is.

Meet The Team

Pino

Pino, the owner of a local bike shop supplies us with bicycles and support. A fluent German speaker who has years of experience working with cycle tourists in Cilento, he'll be on hand to attend to any bike issues. He sponsors the local cycling team and gives a lot back to support young riders and we are very proud to work with him.

The Hotel Mare Team

The team at Hotel Mare of Luana, Giovanni, María and Mario, who we would be lost without. Typical charismatic Italians, they will immediately make you feel welcome upon arrival. They'll work tirelessly throughout your stay in order to make it as comfortable as possible while also providing your with the best of the Mediterranean Diet!

The Guides

You should only cycle in Italy with an Italian!! We work with a selection of local guides who know the routes inside out, it’s like they’re showing you around their back garden! One of our guides however is English cyclist and musician, Jack Stafford, who has settled down here with one of the local girls. Having lived in Cilento for the last three years and cycled every imaginable route, he's the perfect man to have onboard.
