Cilento is a region in the southern Italian province of Campania. Pronunced "Chee-lento", it is a popular destination for Italian tourists in the summer months although to foreigners, it has remained one of Italy's best kept secrets. Only a few hours drive from Napoli, Rome or Bari airports (transport can be arranged), it has some of the best cycling, weather, food, countryside and hospitality in Europe. Best known for Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park, which has been a world heritage site since 1998, the unique and unspoilt landscape provides the perfect terrain for a cycling holiday.
Cycle Cilento is based in the largest town, Agropoli, a town on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea, with all modern amenities, but within cycling distance of the best that Cilento National Park has to offer.
We offer well-priced half board accommodation and guided cycling tours of the Cilento area catering for all levels of cyclist. You can ride along the stunning coastal cliffs through scenic tranquil fishing villages, or head east, upward through Cilento's challenging climbs which top out at 1,700m (5600ft) only 35km inland from the coast. The roads are quiet, the drivers respectful, the locals friendly, the climbs challenging and the scenery stunning. In short, it's a cyclist's paradise!
